The public website and family app do different jobs. This page explains website operation and cookies; family journeys have their own explanation and app notice.
The sample does not use your family.
The public sample’s illustrated map and letters are fictional. It requests no child details or location, and reactions are not sent to anyone. Reloading the page starts the sample again.
Family information belongs in the separate app.
Before the Magic manages accounts, saved stories, invitations, retention, export and deletion. Its current notice is available at app.beforethemagic.com/privacy. Website analytics consent does not change access to a family story.

Essential site operations
Cloudflare Pages delivers these public pages. It processes technical connection data, such as IP address and browser information, as needed to serve and protect the site. We store your consent choice in your browser for 180 days.
Optional analytics
Only with your consent, we run Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited). It measures visits to public pages, traffic sources and ordinary interactions such as scrolling or outbound links. We limit the _ga and _ga_* analytics cookies to 180 days. We do not send family details, private access links or message content. We strip page URLs down to the path and standard campaign parameters before sending them. Google may process data outside the EEA. Your consent is the legal basis for this measurement.
The 180-day cookie expiry does not delete data held by Google. Detailed-data retention depends on Analytics settings; aggregate reports have separate rules. Google Analytics data retention.
Optional advertising measurement
Only with separate consent, we load the Google Ads tag (Google Ireland Limited) on this public site. It may measure visits after an ad click and build audiences for future advertising; it may use _gcl_* advertising cookies. We do not load the tag without advertising consent. We reduce URLs to the page path and ordinary campaign parameters. We do not send family details, message content or private links from the separate app. Google may process data outside the EEA. Your consent is the legal basis.
You can allow analytics and advertising measurement separately, reject them or change your choices through “Cookie settings” in the footer. Rejecting does not limit your use of the site. If you withdraw consent, we stop the matching tag and delete its cookies available to this site. This cannot remove previously processed aggregate statistics.
Your rights and contact
Email us to request access, correction or erasure of personal data, object to processing, or ask about retention. We keep email correspondence only as long as needed to handle and document it.
