One shared phone, a few letters and a time you choose. Before preparing, consider reading support, connectivity and whether your child wants this kind of story.
No personal device or reading skills required.
Follow the story together on a parent’s phone or tablet. An adult can read aloud and then put the device away. An invited grandparent can use a link and PIN on their own device. Children do not need accounts.
There is no universal age recommendation here. Consider your child’s interests and needs. A book or ordinary unstructured waiting is just as valid if they do not want a map or do not enjoy the story.
Check connectivity where you will celebrate.
The app runs in a web browser and needs internet. Try the actual device and invited viewers’ access beforehand. Private rehearsal demonstrates the interface and story, not holiday availability of a network or service.
We do not promise offline operation, lock-screen notifications or guaranteed reliability on every device. The phone does not arrange presents or replace an adult at the finale.
Evening or morning, at home or with relatives.
Choose the destination and local time for the actual gift gathering. An approximate area can be used. If plans change, pause stops the position and new messages; review shifted times before resuming. Arrival waits for a parent’s confirmation.
Have an off-screen fallback.
Keep your own letter to read aloud beforehand. If the connection fails, put the map aside and continue with your plans. Do not announce arrival solely from an out-of-date screen.
The app should join what you already do. There is no need to watch all day, complete tasks or catch every message.
