There are still plates on the table and presents to finish arranging. The time on a screen does not have to hurry you to the tree. A parent decides when the finale is ready.
Choose a time that fits your family.
Set a local date and gift time during preparation. Celebrate on Christmas Eve or the following morning. Times follow the destination’s time zone, rather than the phone’s current location. Review the story’s words and moments before scheduling.
A fictional example: presents were planned for 6:00 p.m., but dinner will finish at 6:20. First, the adults agree who will arrange the presents. Then hold the arrival, or pause the whole story if the plan needs a longer break.
Pause the journey and its new messages.
Pausing the whole story freezes the position and stops new messages. Children stay at the current part of the journey; delivered letters remain. Before resuming, the parent reviews the shifted times. Already delivered messages are not repeated.
Holding arrival is a narrower action: it keeps the finale waiting. It is different from pausing the whole day. You can also end the story early; children see a thank-you, and delivered messages stay in the memory according to your retention choice.
Confirm the finale when the presents really are ready.
Arrival waits for a parent to confirm that the presents are ready. The app cannot see the room or make that decision for you. A child-view invitation does not expose this control. An invited second parent has the same responsibility and management rights.
