A personal Santa message without sharing your child’s data
A message can feel personal because it names a shared moment. It does not need an address, school or photograph.
Before opening a message generator, write two lines yourself. Mention the drawing on the fridge, the family dog or a game you played together. A child recognises the detail; no platform needs to know their full name or where they live.
Use a small information checklist
If a service asks for a child’s photo, home address, school or precise location, ask whether that detail appears in the final message and whether it is truly needed. Check who receives the data and how to remove it. A nickname and a made-up town may work better, or you can avoid uploading anything.
- Keep the message on your device until you decide to share it.
- Leave out private family difficulties and promises about behavior.
- Read the final words aloud before showing the child.
Try: “Dad told me about the blanket fort you built together. It sounds like a wonderful hideout.” The detail comes from you, and the child gets the surprise.
