Something green, something soft: a Christmas hunt at home.
Close the map for a moment and look around the room. What’s green? What’s soft? Is there a star anywhere? Three simple clues are enough for a little hunt between letters.
A green dinosaur counts too
Perhaps you had the tree in mind, but your child brings a green dinosaur. Ask why they chose it. You can search together for the next clue: a cushion, a glove and Teddy are all soft.
Give one clue at a time. Your child can point at the answer instead of carrying it over. If there’s no star to find, draw one. Stop after the first clue if you like, or follow a new idea from your child.
- Choose one easily reachable object for the first clue.
- Let your child show and explain their own answer.
- Try another clue, or look together at what you’ve found.
